We were introduced to the festival in 2000 by a friend of ours who lives not far away on the mainland. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to show our appreciation through the pictures I took. I hope it may encourage others to join us in future years. |

The Mendelssohn in Mull Festival is a week long series of concerts given by a group of young musicians on the brink of starting their professional career mentored by a dedicated group their seniors. The performers come from many colleges and countries. Most of them will not have known each other until the start of the week and they will not have known the contents of the programmes they will be performing beforehand. So this is a real test of their ability to cope with the pressures of being a full-time professional musician. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

The photographs on this site are intended to serve as a memento of these memorable weeks. If you should think (and I know you would not say it!) that these photos lack some sharpness, it is because they were taken without flash and any special lighting. Therefore it's not always possible to stop the movement. I hope it contributes towards atmosphere! since you can't hear the music, perhaps you can feel it. |
